Forth Region Scouts Brass Monkeys Camp
The Craigs 29th/30th December 2007
The traditional end of year brass monkeys camp that Forth Valley Area have run for the past 14 years was this year opened to the all Scouts and Explorers within the new Forth Region. 71 Scouts, Explorers and Leaders descended upon West Lothians Camping and Training Centre at The Craigs, Torphichen for 24 hours of fun.

They slept in hike tents and cooking was done on small expedition stoves. It also involved a hike to the top of Cairn Papple where everyone was rewarded with a fantastic view accross the new region. Upon returning to site campers cooked their evening meal and were then invited to a campfire led by Gerry Paterson (9th West Lothian). The evening finished off with a quiz and movie indoors and although the skies were clear promising a cold night everyone slept well.
Forth Region comprises of four districts, West Lothia, Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannan. This was the first of many combined events to be held in the region and was a huge success. A great end to a fantastic year.
